Feed ghost shrimp, snails, bloodworms, krill, shell-on shrimp, crabs, clams, and mussels. Snails and other shelled foods need to be fed to prevent overgrowth of teeth Varied diet is a must and any freeze dried or frozen foods should be presoaked in tank water and vitamins. |
| Care: |
Although often sold as a brackish water fish, this species seems to do best in full saltwater conditions to really thrive. They should only be introduced to a fully cycled aquarium matching the salinity they were being kept in previously. The salinity should slowly be raised to marine conditions(no more than .002 SG per week until 1.020 is achieved). |

Not a lot is known about this species of puffer. They have grown in popularity in recent years due to their vibrant coloration. They are an extremely active puffer and need room to swim and explore. Very few hobbyists have been able to keep these puffers alive for long periods of time, they are known to simply stop eating one day and die. No one knows for sure why this happens. |
