These puffers are also sensitive to nitrites and ammonia and should only be introduced into a fully cycled aquarium. They do not require any salt in their water to live a healthy and happy life. Due to their messy eating habits, overfilatration is highly recommended. |

The T. cochinchinensis is part of the target puffer group, a group of puffers that look very similar and are all often sold under the same names. The easy way to identify this one is to look for the red dot near the tail. If it has one, it is most likely a T. cochinchinensis. |
